Here's a little tune by The Impalas - AKA Supernatural cast and crew members including, Jensen Ackles, Mark Sheppard, Richard Speight Jr. and Robert Benedict from #VanCon 2015 to get your week off to a great start! I really really wish they would come to DragonCon!!!
Bruce Campbell. Lucy Lawless. Deadites. What more do you need? This Halloween, Starz is bringing us a 10-episode series continuation of the cult classic Evil Dead series and I. Can't. Wait. Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, know to most as the Mythbusters, are branching out from science to fiction television. They are currently working with CBS on a development deal to executive produce a series loosely based on their lives with a twist -they are recruited for covert ops by the CIA! (They would not star in the series,) According to THR, the idea is plausible and appealing because in real life, Hyneman is a special effects expert with a degree in Russian linguistics who has worked as a certified dive master, wilderness survival expert, boat captain, linguist, animal wrangler and chef.
Savage, an industrial design and special effects designer/fabricator who has also worked as an animator, graphic designer, carpenter, projectionist, toy designer and more. Together they would have just the kind of particular skills the CIA would be looking for. Basically it would be MacGyver (with a partner) for a new generation - and I'm down for that... Like kids pausing a hockey game in the road for a passing car, Marvel TV has announced "GAME ON!" The thought-dead spin-off series focusing on Agents of SHEILD's Mockingbird (Adrian Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) is back in line for a pilot. Sources say that though the original series concept was a direct spin-off called Marvel's Most Wanted, the new series pilot "won't be a spin-off of AoS, but has a new take focusing on the same duo and their continuing adventures."
Someone needs to tell them that if peopel from one show get a new show, playing the exact same characters - no matter what the plot - is has been and always will be a "spin-off"... Either way, I'll be interested to see what they do with this. So Professor Xavier and Harry Potter make a monster while being pursued by Moriarty - yeah, I'm sold... British accents and lots of snark ahead! Now meet the team that stole the plans! At the D23 conference this past weekend, there was a ton of great announcements in the Disney/Marvel/Star Wars universe. One of the best IMHO is our first look at the cast of Star Wars: Rogue One. The film follows the resistance fighters who unite to steal plans to the Death Star. "Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe," producer Kathleen Kennedy said in a release. "It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know." Announced cast, so far, are Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed.
The first officially licensed Star Trek cruise will be leaving port in January 2017 - with none other than William Shatner at the helm! Well, hopefully he won't actually be at the helm, but the original James T. Kirk will definitely be on board the Norwegian Pearl when it sets sail from Miami. The cruise, which will feature Trek-themed bars, life-sized board games, and performances by the Enterprise Blues Band, celebrates the 50 year anniversary of the Star Trek franchise. The ship will visit Cozumel, Nassau, and NCL's private island. Shatner won't be the only Trek celebrity on board - Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, John de Lancie, Denise Crosby, and Robert Picardo will also share in the journey, along with cast members from Voyager and Deep Space Nine. You can reserve your spot on the Star Trek 50th Anniversary cruise by clicking here. Prices range from $975 to $7,500.`
The hype machine is in full force (pun intended). A 'new trailer' has a handful of new clips and an jaw dropping final clip that is NOT Han & Chewie! Also, Entertainment Weekly has dropped a few more character pics for us to drool over. Is it December 18th yet?
