Maisie! Missy! Aliens and Monsters Oh MY! It's starting to feel a bit more Doctor Who around here...

...of a new Star Wars the Force Awakens trailer! New voice over and only a few new shots, but still. I can feel the excitement building! Warner Bros. Pictures has announce the 'official' release date for Steven Spielberg's much anticipated adaptation of Ernest Cline's Ready Player One. December 15, 2017! “Any film from Steven Spielberg is an event film, so it felt right to date this thrilling new project from one of our greatest filmmakers for the holiday season,” said Warner Bros domestic distribution head Dan Fellman. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them just got a bit more handsome (and Irish.)
Colin Farrell just signed on to the Harry Potter spin-off as Graves, a wizard that Newt Scamander (lead Eddie Redmayne) meets on his adventures in New York. And so do British tabloids. But then, sometimes they are right.
Today there is a rumor going around that there will not be a Series 10 of Doctor Who next year. They are not saying it is cancelled. Don't panic. The report claims it is because Steven Moffat is busy with Sherlock next year, while others say the BBC is trying to force him out as showrunner. The article, which appeared in Private Eye magazine (which is a satire site, so hopefully we can take this with a grain of salt), says there might be some Doctor Who specials in 2016, but no regular episodes - so fans better 'make the best' of series 9's twelve episode arc because it might be a while. Here is hoping this whole thing is a load of malarkey. Series 9 of Doctor Who premieres on BBC America September 19th. This is the HD Red Band trailer, so NSFW! DC's Legends of Tomorrow has a kickass Hawkgirl, and now apparently they have cast their Carter Hall (AKA Hawkman) in Falk Hentshel. He will probably not be a series regular, but there is always wacky reincarnation drama when Carter and Hawkgirl meet. Carter Hall was named dropped in season one of The Flash, and rumor has it he'll be making his first appearances in the second season crossover episodes with Arrow before appearing in the Legends spinoff. Also slated for the crossover episode is Danish actor Casper Crump (Helium, Tarzan) who will be playing Legends 'big bad' Vandal Savage. Bran finally gets a tutor on Game of Thrones! Legendary actor, Max von Sydow, has been cast as the 'Three Eyed Raven" in season six. This news follows the announcement on Ian McShane being added to the cast in an (as yet) unnamed part... On Supergirl, Jenna Dewan-Tatum has been cast in the reoccurring role of Lucy Lane. In the comics, she is the younger sister of Lois, and the sometimes paramour of Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks). Also, Peter Facinelli (Twilight Movies, Nurse Jackie) was confirmed at SDCC to be the 'villian' of the series, Maxwell Lord. PBS announced that this Halloween they are bringing us something special! In fact it will be a special called, Danny Elfman's Music from the Films of Tim Burton. He has performed such All Hallow's Eve concerts before, but they have never been televised until now. It will be filmed Live at Lincoln Center in NYC and broadcast on PBS, October 30th at 9pm. Featured scores during the concert are Batman (1989), Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Of course Elfman has created so much more music that just his collaborations with Burton, but these seem more than appropriate for a pre-Halloween spectacular. We will be tuning in for sure!
