Amazon quietly just made its Prime subscription service waaaaaaay more attractive for gamers. The online store has added extra discounts on "certain video game consoles, accessories, and games when sold by Amazon.com" for Prime subscribers.  Roughly the discounts equal about 10-20% off some major games.
Examples:
PGA: $10 off
Black Ops 3: $10 off
Madden: $6 off
Battlefront: $7 off

Customers reported this message being seen at checkout:   "Members of Amazon Prime qualify for a lower price on this item when shipped and sold by Amazon. Add it to your cart and see the discount at the final check out page. Offer will be extended to all existing Prime member pre-orders."  It's a similar discount to Best Buy, GameStop, and other retail gaming memberships you can pay for.  Sources say that this is a test run for the Amazon 20th anniversary sale the week of July 12th.  It may be worth looking into for Arkham Knight, etc. like one of our editors just did ($10 off at checkout).

Nolan North Spills About The Last of Us 2

"For now I know they're doing 'Last of Us 2,' but my character in 'Last of Us' kind of met an untimely demise," North said at a Metrocon panel earlier in June (seen here).  Naughty Dog has not confirmed the news, but it isn't a huge stretch to assume that a highly successful game would have a sequel. WE WANT A SEQUEL. *hint*hint*

This is immediately what we thought of.  Sadly this is not the new plot of a Sailor Moon film, it's actually astronomy news.

Jupiter and Venus will create a  "double star” in the sky after sunset (9pm EST) on June 30th.  The planets have been moving closer all month and will be so close they will appear as though they are colliding, NASA said.  Get out your telescopes!

We have shared a ton of clips from new games at E3, but if you only watch 3, these are the best things we saw by company...
Picture
#3 - NINTENDO
STARFOX ZERO (and puppets)
Forgoing the batshit crazy puppet intro, Starfox Zero for the Nintendo is a pure jolt of nostalgia - which seemed the theme of the Nintendo presentation. Super Mario Maker being a prime example that just falls short of the title.

#2 - MICROSOFT
HOLOLENS (Minecraft)
The Microsoft Keynote had a lot of the new 'old chestnuts' - like Halo, Fallout, and Fable (all which looked amazing) but nothing was as impressive as the live demo of the 3D virtual reality Hololens presentation.
#1 - SONY
Horizon Zero Dawn is quite possibly one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen. The world building and character design is flawless. It takes the post-apocolyptic genre and pushes it farther into the future that we've seen before. Our modern society is no longer history - it is a legend, a whisper, a cave painting on the wall. The female protagonist, Aloy, is spectacular, skilled and smart (and fantastically voiced by Ashly Burch, from Life is Strange) as she fights the wild creatures (that are half machine) to survive in this open world gaming experience.
Sony pulled out some other fantastic gaming announcements, including the next gen reboot of the classic Final Fanatsy VII, the long awaited sequel, The Last Guardian and but HZD, to me, edge them out for the win.

HONORABLE MENTION:
Shenmue III, which got fully crowdfunded over its $2 million goal within HOURS of this clip playing at the SONY Keynote.

Let the social media onslaught begin!

Ever since director Paul Feig posted this image on Twitter, everyone has been waiting for a first glimpse at the new all-female Ghostbusters!
Picture
As reported by the Boston Herald, here’s the basic plot of the new film:
Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig will play unknown authors who publish a book asserting that ghosts are real. Their writing gains unwelcome attention a few years later, after Wiig lands a teaching position at Columbia University, and she’s soon laughed out of academia. The two later team with supernatural sleuths played by Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, and save the day when ghosts invade Manhattan.

Exciting news! In an effort to reach more of their hero-loving audience (who may know the MCU movies, but not their nearest comic book store), Marvel Comics has partnered with Amazon.com to add more than 12,000 issues of new and older comic titles.

This includes new favorites such as Spider Gwen, Thor, Ms. Marvel, Runaways, Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps. You can catch up on old stories that might be important to the MCU in the near future, such as Civil War, or enjoy the new Star Wars comics (recently reveling Hans Solo's wife?!) which are officially 'canon' for the new films.

Next Gen Gameplay Clips from E3 That Will Blow You Away

A couple of days ago , we brought you some great cinematic trailers to get you thinking seriously about your gaming budget for the rest of the year.

Today we are bringing you some longer clips from various press conferences showing actual gameplay from some of the biggest titles in the industry...
Evreyone crapped their pants over the trailer for Star Wars Battlefront, well, get your depends out - here is actual multi[player gameplay footage from a leve that looks a lot like Hoth...
There are very few names in adventure games bigger than Nathan Drake. In this first title for the current gen consoles, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, brings you even closer to feeling like you are playing a movie. Notice the new crowd interaction, better team AI and massively destructible environments.

The Microsoft Conference brought some long awaited footage for the newest installment of XBOX Exclusive juggernaut, Halo 5: Guardians. The cinematic commercials have been spectacular, this  trailer/live gameplay clip (featuring Nathan Fillion and Keith David) makes sure we are all in for the next 'Epic' mission...

Welcome to London, 1868. The Assasin's Creed series continues to move through history to pre-industrial Victorian England, with its newest installment, Syndicate.  I'll let the voice over lady take it from here.... Also, meet Evie Frye - the female assassin who kicks ass beside Jacob, but is not featured in this gameplay clip... (cosplayers to arms!)

Is Nathan Fillion voicing all games these day? Because we are ok with that... The visuals, especially the weather elements are stunning in this clip, but overall, the game looks a bit dark for my  taste.

This trailer for the super prequel, Rise of Tomb Raider, features gameplay sequences that are so gorgeous - it is almost impossible to separate them from the cinematics...
This gameplay sequence has a great player voice over to explain the plot and game mechanics - again these next-gen system games are phenomenally realistic and beautiful. It's a very long clip, so if you want, you can watch the trailer here.
To keep up the Tom Clancy game theme, here is Ghost Recon: Wildlands... The story is set in the near-future in Bolivia, which has become the largest cocaine producer in the world. In this edition to the series, the Ghosts are sent to takedown the cartel - by any means necessary.

Ok, so I lied. Here are some more game trailers...

EA announced that Mirror's Edge Catalyst will launch 23 February 2016 for XboxOne, PS 4, and PC. It's a sequel to 2008's incredible Mirror's Edge, and is all about letting you "experience Faith’s origin story" and get your mad battle, free-run on...

Dark Souls fans were excited to see a trailer for Dark Souls III at E3 during the Microsoft keynote. Lots of Lord of the Rings style music and dramatic huge creatures to impress us. We'll be keeping an eye on this one for sure.
Deux EX: Mankind Divided shows off some massive world-building and wicked game mechanics. This one will for sure be on my husband's "must play" list...

Neil Gaiman's 'American Gods' Adaptation Ordered by Starz!

Starz has given a straight-to-series order to a drama adaptation of Neil Gaiman's award-winning novel American Gods, and is launching a casting search for the lead role of Shadow Moon!
The novel, published in 2001, was originally slated to be developed as a series by HBO in 2011 - but the deal fell through, and Starz has picked it up.  Developed and written by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal and Pushing Daisies) and Michael Green (Kings), it will be executive produced by Green and Gaiman.
The book centers on Shadow Moon, an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a con man who is in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.
We are excited to see Starz bring American Gods to life, especially in light of their recent success with Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series!

Sound off in the comments - who would you like to see as Shadow in the new series?
