Here's a sneak peek video INSIDE THE MAGIC released from the press event yesterday. If this doesn't get you excited, I don't know what will!
Ahead of the D23 conference, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek unveiled a massive model of Star Wars Land. This new massive park expansion is slated for Disneyland in CA, and Disney Hollywood Studios in FL sometime in 2019. If this is any indication, it looks like it will be truly breathtaking! Folks lucky enough to be attending the event will get to see the model and more in the Galaxy of Stories pavilion. The rest of us will have to stay tuned to internet for more news about this exciting project. Here's a sneak peek video INSIDE THE MAGIC released from the press event yesterday. If this doesn't get you excited, I don't know what will!

One of the most anticipated sci-fi book adaptations has released this first look photo to Entertainment Weekly.
Ernest Cline's "Ready Player One" has been in our sights since Steven Spielberg took up the director's chair. If you haven't read it, you should - especially if you are an 80's pop culture buff like us. The quest for control of OASIS begins March 18, 2018! by Jen Here there be spoilers. You have been warned! Do not scroll past the TARDIS if you have not already seen the episode (unless you like spoilers)! As if last week's episode of Doctor Who ("World Enough and Time") wasn't heartbreaking enough, this week's season finale ("The Doctor Falls") took that poignancy to new heights. Here are my top five favorite moments:
The only question that remains is - how are we supposed to wait nearly six months for the Christmas episode?! by Jen My son turned 11 this month, and I'm pretty sure he was secretly hoping to get a Hogwarts letter on his birthday. Honestly, as a geeky parent, I was kind of hoping he would too - I mean, going to a wizarding school in England would be a big change, but his father and I would have been so proud! Unfortunately, we're still a family of muggles. It's hard to believe 20 years have passed since the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Here in the US, we had to wait another year for it to be released as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, but the magic began as soon as J.K. Rowling's first book came off the presses in England. I loved the series long before my kids were born, but meeting the characters again through their eyes made me appreciate the students and teachers at Hogwarts on an entirely new level. We've read most of the books together, seen all the movies, and passed countless hours perusing Pottermore. They were irritated when I got a copy of the illustrated edition of first volume for Christmas in 2015 - though of course I let them read it, albeit under close supervision! I've even found a company that offers an online class in Harry Potter Genetics. I'm going to enroll my kids in the hopes of learning if the fact that they are both Ravenclaw while I'm a dyed in the wool Hufflepuff means their father is secretly Slytherin - or is he a Ravenclaw and that gene is somehow dominant? (He won't take the Pottermore quiz, so we may never know.) Thank you, J.K. Rowling, for introducing us to Harry and his friends and telling us their stories in such a memorable fashion! We'll be taking a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando this fall, and I'll be sure to raise a glass of Butterbeer in your honor! Last year, Rifftrax treated us to four spectacular live shows - Tommy Wiseau's The Room, Sharknado 2: The Second One, Miami Connection, and Santa Claus & The Ice-Cream Bunny. For 2016, they're planning to outdo themselves - starting with an all-star MST3K reunion, and a live riff of Time Chasers. Throw your support behind this latest endeavor by donating to their Kickstarter! The title of the movie is Batman V Superman, and this trailer is just that. Ditching all the superfluous nonsense, this trailer finally gives us what we want. And it is GLORIOUS.
Aside from the massive tease of Mr. Freeze joining the growing rouges gallery on Fox's Gotham, it was announced last week that Jada Pinket Smith would be returning for a few episodes as the feisty and hard-to-kill Fish Mooney. We've also recently been treated to the reveal of the legendary Paul Reubens as Oswald Cobblepot's father, a role he also played in the Tim Burton Batman film. We look forward to all the scenes with him the the brilliant Robin Lord Taylor who steals the show as Penguin. Yesterday, we got a sneak peak of who will be the baddest of them all, the new head of Arkham Asylum (and sadistic scientist), Dr. Hugo Strange - played by fan favorite BD Wong. This casting is perfection itself! The show returns to Mondays on FOX after the run of the six-episode mini-series revival of The X-Files on February 29th.
Images and video released by Fox Entertainment. British actor Ricky Whittle (The 100) has been cast as Shadow Moon in Starz' upcoming small-screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman's award-winning novel American Gods. The series will begin shooting in April, with executive producers Brian Fuller and Michael Green at the helm.
Jen got sneak preview ticket to Pride + Prejudice + Zombies! Check out what she thought about it here. And check out the trailer below. Opens February 5th! |
