Pirates of the Caribbean: Beating a Dead Horse..Um.. I mean "Dead Men Tell No Tales" will be hitting theaters on May 26, 2017 - REPLACING STAR WARS EPISODE VIII and delaying it until December 15th. The film stars (of course) Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, sees the return of Orlando Bloom (but not Keira Knightly) and newcomer to the franchise, Javier Bardem.

With the return of The Flash, Arrow and the premiere of DCs Legends of Tomorrow this week, DC took advantage of the enthusiasm of the audience to premiere trailers and sneak peeks for upcoming film projects. Hosted by Jeff Johns and Kevin Smith, a series of clips highlights new movies and characters... Not sure how I feel about the Queen soundtrack on this one, but the movie looks more interesting than it has in previous teasers. Of course the big news is WONDER WOMAN! I was really nervous about this one, but I'm starting to love it! Batman vs Superman trailer premieres tonight during Legends of Tomorrow, but here's a "First Look" I'm most excited about Aquaman, but not so crazy about the 'origin story' take they describe for the movie... Cyborg better say "Booya" at least once during this movie! I still don't know WHY they couldn't just use Grant Gustin... Check out our interview with geek artist extraordinaire, Karen Hallion!
Legendary director Guillermo del Toro announced today on Twitter that he will be producing (and possibly directing) a film based on Alvin Schwartz' Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books. John August, who wrote the screenplays for several Tim Burton films including Big Fish, Corpse Bride, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, has reportedly been working on the script, and del Toro has confirmed that illustrator Stephen Gammell's terrifying imagery will be featured in the film!
We can't wait to see del Toro's take on the stories that were so scary people repeatedly sought to ban them from libraries!
Variety reported on Monday that Disney and Lucasfilm are edging closer to deciding who will play young Han Solo in an untitled Star Wars spinoff that will tell the story of the smuggler's life before he encounters Luke and Leia in A New Hope. The short list is said to include: While all of these choices have potential, we at GGI would like to see some lesser-known names on the list - perhaps Thomas McDowell, who play Finn on The 100? Or Brock Kelly, from Pitch Perfect? The new Han Solo film is set to begin filming in January 2017, but there are rumors that young Han Solo will have a brief cameo in Rogue One, which has about one month remaining in its shooting schedule - so we might not have to wait until May 2018 to meet young Solo!
STOP THE PRESSES! Paul Feig proves girl action figures CAN - AND DO - exist with this sneak peak at the Mattel Ghostbuster prototypes! He confirms via twitter that there will be "Mattel, Funko, Diamond Select & others making over 20 figures in all sizes & styles. Tons of other stuff coming too."
And all without outrage and petitions. Go figure! We were super excited about a Nightwing-led Teen Titans series picked up by TNT last year. Unfortunately today, the network pulled the plug. “We decided it wasn’t where we wanted to go,” TNT president Kevin Reilly said at TCA. Well, let's hope this opens up some of the Titan character properties to cameo on the other DC TV shows like The Flash, Arrow or Supergirl!
This very artistic trailer provides an excellent tease for the return of season 2 of #Daredevil on #Netflix March 18th - earlier than previously announced. Mark your calendars! |
