| According to Deadline, Steven Spielberg is set to direct the film adaptation of new genre classic Ready Player One by Ernest Cline! Spielberg hasn't actually directed a movie himself since AI: Artificial Intelligence in 2001 (I was surprised by that!) But since the '80s - especially Spielberg's The Goonies - is such a huge influence on the text, it seems a perfect fit! The screenplay is being penned by Zak Penn. As of now, there is no release date, but we will be watching this one closely... |
