In Shattered, Atticus and his apprentice Granuaile are separated by circumstance for the first time since she has been bound as a full Druid. Granuaile is called by old friends to India to try and save the soul of her possessed archaeologist father while Atticus, with the help of his newly rescued Arch Druid, Owen, tries to unravel the mystery of who is helping Loki to hunt them down and end the line of druids for good.
There is a lot of back and forth between the three narrators (including the new character of Owen) and timeline overlapping in the chapters of this book that can be a little confusing at times, but the way the threads weave together towards the final battle of this book is worth the wait.
The new mystery in the final pages brings us all one step closer to the showdown with Loki, and the long, long wait until the next book.
