After an explosive premiere, the follow-up episode brings us more of the good stuff with a side-order of character development.
Last week we were introduced to a bunch of new 'Agents,' and learned a almost nothing about them. But, since half of them didn't survive the first episode, I guess the writers were saving their breath for this week.

It would seem muscly tech guy, 'Mac' and merc-with-a-conscience, Lance Hunter, are the ones sticking around enough to get to know better. Mac seems to be intersecting with Fitz's story line and becoming a new foil for our favorite, slightly damaged, super-genius. Hopefully it will help him come to terms with the fact that Simmons is gone.
Lance Hunter had a larger arc this episode with his 'rogue vengeance at all cost' attitude towards bringing down Creel (Absorbing Man) for killing his friend (love?) Izzy Hartley. He faces down (and backstabs) basically everyone on the show to get to Creel - only to be saved and re-recruited by Coulson (who saw through him the whole time.)

I really like how Skye has evolved this season. I HATED her character in the beginning. She is observant, focused, strong and unflinching in the face of danger. She challenges Coulson and May as equals and owns her life and loyalties. With the reveal of Kyle McLaughlin as her father and 'Flowers' ability to handle the obelisk at the end of the episode, I can't wait to see what happens with her character next.
The action and effects were super strong again this week - May's motorcycle chase, Creel's transformations (I really hope we see him again soon - such a great villain!), and the return of the Bus were some favorite highlights.
Coulson's alien writing 'condition' had been a loose end up 'til now, but it is good to know May has got him covered... and how cool is the 'toolbox' - very 'Stark Tech'...
So, where the heck is Simmons?! Ummmmm, it looks like we get an answer next week!
