Well, no one actually died - but a sizzle reel and some plot tidbits were released during panels at the Star Wars celebration in Anaheim, CA over the weekend.
Director Gareth Edwards is the man-in-charge of the first stand-alone Star Wars Anthology film which is slated for release in December 2016.
"A rogue band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans."
“It’s about the fact that god’s not coming to save us, and we’re on our own,” said Edwards. “The absence of the Jedi is omnipresent in the film. It hangs over the whole movie.”
Filming stars this summer.
