Oh, Gotham, how I have missed you! And tonight's episode absolutely did not disappoint.
Fish Mooney is still stranded on the mysterious island of The Dollmaker (Dr. Dulmacher, whatever), but she is actively plotting her escape - and Dulmacher's demise. It looks like she's on the verge of being caught more than once, but I knew she had a deeper plan than she was letting on; and sure enough, by the end of the episode she's flying away on a helicopter with her faithful few - and a nasty gunshot to boot.
Back at the GCPD, Gordon is riding high, enjoying his new position of authority - and is all to happy to accept what appears to be the adulation of a beat cop who wants him to look into an unsolved murder. Too late, Bullock figures out they are tracking a serial murderer who has sworn vengeance on any member of the police force who investigates him.
Ladies and gentlemen, there's a new bad boy in town - meet The Ogre.

There are only three episodes left in this season, and I have the feeling we'll be seeing a lot of this fellow - because, of course, Gordon will not back down, even when he learns that Loeb has set him up. He angrily confronts Loeb, and lets him know he will be gunning for the Commissioner once he has taken care of The Ogre.
Penguin has plans of his own. His attempts to take over a seemingly minor business are rebuffed, until he agrees to help get the owner's granddaughter out of the clutches of a seedy guitar player - which he does, with his usual ruthlessness. When his henchman asks why he cares about such a minor place, Penguin offers up a creepy smile and says this is the place where he'll kill Maroni.
In fact, it seems everyone is out for vengeance tonight - Alfred is out of the hospital, but apparently not out of the woods. His plans to go after the man who attacked him are sidetracked when he begins bleeding, but Bruce learns that he suspects his former friend will spend a few days in a shooting gallery before leaving town. I did have to laugh when Bruce wasted a day searching gun ranges before Selina came to his aid and educated him in the ways of street life.

The shooting gallery outing proves educational in more ways than one - Bruce learns who is after him, and why. He also learns that sometimes the only way to deal with dark people is to use dark methods - when the addict threatens to out him to his source, Selina helps him out a window and he falls to his death.
So once again, Gotham leaves us hanging. Can Fish return to Gotham? Will Penguin's move on Maroni be successful? Who will be The Ogre's next victim?
Tune in next week!
