Geek Trivia. Hot Nerd Men. Booze.

I thought that would get your attention...

SyFy channel has just green lit 'Geeks Who Drink' - a trivia based game show to be hosted by one of my very favorite nerds, Zachary Levi (Chuck, Tangled, Thor: The Dark World).

The show is based on the popular bar trivia game of the same name. Levi describes it as:

We want to keep the heart of Geeks Who Drink--the pub circuit--very pure. But we’re also trying to translate that to television, and trying to find ways to do that that are very organic.

The contestants will definitely be drinking.  But it’s gonna be very responsible. We don’t want anyone getting smashed on television. It’s similar to Hollywood Game Night in that regard. It’s a relaxed format.

The best part is, each of the two regular geek teams will have a celebrity Captain - and Zac has A LOT of famous friends from his Nerd HQ con enterprises...

I want fan-favorites that would blow people’s minds—and I want to let people to see them in a fun and simultaneously challenging situation. The Joss Whedons of the world, the William Shatners. Nathan Fillion, Seth Green, Matt Smith, a lot of my friends in this world—anyone that fans would tune in and say, “I’m glad I got to see that side of that person.”

The show is set to premiere just after SDCC on July 16th. I, for one will be tuning in.
