UPDATE: The project reached their initial goal of $425,000 in only 6 hours! However, more money - more episodes, so keep giving! The campaign runs until April 10th!
Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk are starting a new webseries and they need your help to fund it! It is going to be called Con Man, and it's about two former sci-fi space series stars and how their lives take very different paths afterwards - one to stardom and one to the convention circuit. If you love Firefly and Galaxy Quest - sounds like this show is for you! |
“It’s about the convention world,” says Tudyk, who is also the show’s creator, writer, and director. “My character, Wray Nerely, was on a science fiction show called Spectrum, that was canceled too soon, and now he goes to conventions, to sign head shots, and meet fans, and do panels. Nathan’s character, Jack Moore, who was the captain of the spaceship on Spectrum, has gone on to incredible action-hero stardom, like Matt Damon.
My character is frustrated with his situation and frustrated by Jack’s stardom. We follow Wray’s story as he goes to the conventions and does video game voiceovers and we are going to populate it with sci-fi actors and people that you will find at conventions. Zany hi-jinks ensue!” -Entertainment Weekly
Who are these other sci-fi actors you ask? How about Sean Maher and Gina Torres (Firefly) as well as Amy Acker, Seth Green, Felicia Day, and Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker James Gunn!
Seriously, shut up and take my money!
They will take your money too, HERE.
Currently the campaign is looking to raise $425,000 for the first three 10-minute webisodes.
