Well, here it is - the big day!  Welcome to the official launch of our website!

My geeky girl friends and I have been talking about doing something like this for a long, long time and now it is a reality! Between all of us we have an 'expert' on almost all aspects of a Geek Girl's life: relationships, style, travel, cosplay, crafts, movies, books, TV, games, careers and the internet - and we've got all the fandoms covered!
We've started slow with a steady stream of stories on our Facebook page, but now we'll be able to bring you more articles on more topics that ever! We also have a YouTube channel we will be getting content on in the near future!

Over the course of the week, we will be running messages from our main editorial staff and writers so you can get to know the ladies of Geek Girls, Inc. a bit better.

Lauren Gisel - Editor in Chief

Hi my name is Lauren and I am a geek. I watch WAY too much television, quote movies like a second language, and read urban fantasy books like breathing. I'll be writing a bunch of the entertainment news and reviews columns (and other stuff here and there.)

My major fandoms are the Whedonverse, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate SG1, Farscape (and anything Henson), Fringe, and my most recent obsessions, Arrow and Orphan Black. I also desperately miss the days of legit 'Saturday Morning Cartoons'.

I'm also a newbie at cosplay and tabletop gaming, so watch for my semi-regular column, 'Diary of a Noob' to follow my journey further down the rabbit hole of geekdom!

Jen Moore - Contributing Editor

Hello Geeks! I'm posting my welcome from FL, where I'm working on my sunburn and anticipating the release of the final book in Deborah Harkness' All Souls trilogy.

My geekiness first evidenced itself in a love of tabletop RPGs, Lovecraftian horror stories, and Star Trek: TNG, and has expanded into sci-fi/supernatural television (especially, but not limited to, anything British) and fantasy literature (from Terry Pratchett and Piers Anthony to Kim Harrison and Jim Butcher).

I tend to get a late start on television shows, so look forward to lots of Binge-Watch Wednesdays and Throwback Thursdays from me about shows I've just discovered but the rest of the universe has been enjoying for years!

Tune in the rest of the week to meet more of our contributors!
