Check it Out! - The Quest

Gather your sword (the tv remote), your armour (a comfy blanket), your thirst for adventure and get ready for a new show from ABC to take you away from the norms of reality TV into their newest show, The Quest.

It premiered last night and this Geek Girl was enthralled from the very beginning.

This show has been five years in the making according to the executive producers, some of whom worked on the LOTR movies and other well known franchises  - and it is reflected in every detail of the setting, the costuming, the characters and the animatronic monsters that interact with the 12 heroic paladins that must compete to become the one true hero in the land of Everealm.

The contestants were searched out far and wide across the U.S. to participate in this unique, immersive land of medieval adventure.

Just as in many of the MMOs, LARPs and D&D campaigns you may have played, the players in this show will use their skills to overcome and participate in epic challenges.

The show is filmed in Austria using an authentic castle and the surrounding lands that take you back into that distant time. The show is filled with cast and crews who are dressed and act appropriately as the populace of the town so that it is a realistic as possible for the contestants and to the audience.

If you are a fan of the medieval times or fantasy worlds that adopt that as their backdrop then you will enjoy the scenery, the costumes and the premise of this new reality show on ABC. Currently it is showing Thursdays at 8pm.
