4th of July Edition!
As you celebrate the Fourth of July this year, take a moment to remember some of the amazing women involved in the American Revolution.
Did you know that several women served as spies during the war?
Anna “Nancy” Smith Strong was a member of the Culper Spy Ring and used laundry on her clothesline to send coded messages to other spies. Anna is a featured character on AMC's "Turn," a TV drama about the Culper Spy Ring - a show on the top of my patriotic binge watch list for the weekend!
Other great women include, Lydia Darragh who gathered coded British reports and was able to warn George Washington about a surprise attack and Nancy Morgan Hart who actually captured British officers and Torie loyalists and helped defend a fort from attack by the British and Native Americans.
