There has been a lot of chatter, controversy and excitement lately surrounding Gal Gadot and her upcoming feature film portrayals of Wonder Woman. But today we take a look back and serve tribute to the original Wonder Woman, LYNDA CARTER.
Parlaying a pageant win as Miss World in 1972 into an acting career, Lynda got her biggest break when she was cast as Wonder Woman from 1975 to 1979. Since then, she has appeared in dozens of movies and TV guest spots (one of our favorites being the principal in Sky High.)
Also an accomplish jazz singer, she has had prominent roles in musical theater including a highly acclaimed production of Chicago in London's west end and her own one-woman show. She has even had an album reach #10 on the Billboard Jazz charts!
Oh, and she has even done video game voice over work for the Elder Scrolls!
She has always been an advocate for cancer and Alzheimer's research, women's issues, and LGBT rights.
