"In every generation there is a chosen one... she alone will stand against the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness. She is the slayer."
Today’s featured lady is known for being the kickass teenager that saved the world from ultimate evil - and still looked fabulous. Sarah Michelle Gellar played the ground-breaking Buffy on Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series from 1997-2003. This iconic character - "the one girl in all the world with the strength and skill to hunt and kill vampires" - would go on to inspire a generation of girls to be empowered, and had such a social impact, that there are courses taught in colleges about it!
A little trivia: Sarah has a black belt in Tae Kwan Do, and is passionate about fitness. Per IMDB, she currently takes kickboxing, boxing, street fighting and gymnastics. It makes me wonder if she was always interested in this, or did playing Buffy, who weekly decimated some big evil, influence her fitness regimen?

She went on to star in many movies that we all know and love (or maybe that is just me?) - The Grudge (1&2), Scooby Doo (1&2), I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2 and Cruel Intentions. After a break to start a family, she made her way back to TV doing multiple voice overs for Robot Chicken as Sarah Connor, Daphne Blake, Ellen Ripley and the CW show Ringer. Last season, she co-starred in the sitcom The Crazy Ones with the legendary Robin Williams and won the 2013 People’s Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. Unfortunately, the show was not picked up for a second season - despite being hilarious.

In case there aren't already enough reasons to love SMG, she is a local philanthropist as well. She is an Ambassador for CARE whose mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world. She also volunteers for Make a Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Project Angel Food, Starbright Foundation and Planned Parenthood.
She resides in LA, CA with her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. They were married in 2002, and have two children.
