Welcome to October, folks!

'Tis the season for all the Halloween classics to crawl out of the woodwork for your viewing pleasure.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family, Beetlejuice, The Witches... and a never-ending stream of scary horror flicks.

But my favorite by far is Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.

I LOVE stop motion animation. A lot. This movie went a long way in bringing this artform back to the mainstream, allowing us to still have gorgeous movies like Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, ParaNorman and Boxtrolls to enjoy.

It is hard to believe it came out 21 years ago - this movie is old enough to drink legally!

The character design is iconic (and quintessentially Tim Burton) and the characters themselves are unforgettable. Jack, the flawed hero who just wants more out of life than his everyday routine. Kind-hearted Sally, the voice of reason in this mad-mad world. Mr. Oogie Boogie and Lock, Shock, and Barrel - the trick-or-treaters from hell!  And of course Santa himself!

Oh, and the music! So haunting and beautiful. So wicked and fun. I think it is Danny Elfman's best work - and that is saying something!
This movie is both a Halloween AND a Christmas classic for all time.
And I'm sure it is coming soon to a TV near you, so check it out!
