From It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown to Toy Story of Terror, I look forward to these specials every year - but The Simpsons’ annual Treehouse of Horror is my very favorite of all!
On Sunday 10/26 from noon to midnight, FXX will be airing all of The Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror episodes. I literally could not be more excited. I may have even called my television provider to change my package to include the FXX channel just for this occasion. The Walking Dead will have to wait til Monday this week, because I’ll be marathoning The Simpsons on Sunday!

I asked some of my fellow GG Inc. writers what they love to watch on television duringthe Halloween season:
Lauren: "For me, this time of year is a great time to bust out the stop-motion animated movies. The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride, Coraline and ParaNorman are fantastic Halloween fare. The artistry and whimsically creepy ambiance of these films are an inspiration to me as I put up decorations and plan my party costumes."
As for live action, one of my old favorites is The Addams Family. Comedy gold for kids. When I was nine, I wanted Wednesday Addams to be my sister. Heck, I wanted to BE Wednesday Addams.”
Annie: "I both loved and feared Gremlins. I totally loved the first parts of each movie then when they became Gremlins I watched gripped with fear. I also had a 45 record where the Gremlins sang songs and told stories that gave me all kinds of nightmares." Lindsey: "It isn't Halloween without Hocus Pocus. I watch it every year!" |
So there you go - plenty of spooky TV and movies to get your Halloween season started! If you can’t find anything on tv that you want to watch, Netflix has a Dreamworks Spooky Stories trilogy that consists of two Shrek Halloween-themed tales and one Monsters v. Aliens episode.
