In the last few days there have been several announcements of bringing back some 80's classic cartoons for the modern generation.

Today, Universal set an Oct. 23, 2015 release date for its Jem and the Holograms movie, based on Hasbro’s cult Saturday Morning animated series.
OK, I'll admit - I kind of want to see this.

The musical fantasy reimagines Jem amid the current hyperlinked social media era in a story of a small-town girl going from underground video sensation to global superstar with her three sisters.

Jon M. Chu directed from Ryan Landels’ script with Aubrey Peeples as the lead. Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau, Hayley Kiyoko, Ryan Guzman, Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis also star.

Yesterday, it was reported that Netflix was re-re-re booting The Care Bears with the exclusive Care Bears and Cousins series slated for 2016.

For you 90's kids, Netflix has also ordered the return of The Magic Schools Bus!
The Magic School Bus 360° will be a computer-generated reimagining of the 1990s show, complete with 26 episodes that star a modernized Ms. Frizzle and her students. They'll navigate problem-solving adventures in a high-tech bus with features like robotics, wearables and camera technology... - Scholastic Media
Lastly - and most frighteningly - Tuesday brought us the teaser trailer for the re-boot of Rainbow Brite. I'll put the link here, but I warn you it isn't pretty. The style is reminiscent of the very popular My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series, but the similarities stop there...
"With Rainbow Brite, we believe we have created something that captures the essence of the original series - but with a vision that resonates today,” said Iris Ichishita, head of original entertainment at Feeln. "We hope audiences will react with an 'oh my bows!' - just like us."

How about 'oh hells no!'

What do you think?
