Urban Dictionary defines a fangirl as "a rabid breed of human female who is obsessed with either a fictional character or an actor." I can't disagree with that definition, though I don't think I would be reduced to the "groping and tackling" that are referenced later in the definition - I'm more of an "admiring and ogling" girl myself!
Let's dedicate this first Fangirl Friday to a geek icon who is an unabashed fanboy himself - John Barrowman!

Not only does he kick ass and take names on shows like Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Arrow, he is also one of the best personalities to encounter at a con. He goes out of his way to make the fans feel special, as evidenced in the picture I took with him last year at DragonCon in Atlanta, GA!
While he is undeniably (in my humble opinion) adorable, good looks are just part of Barrowman's charm. His charisma is evident on screen and in person, and he puts it to good use supporting LGBT causes. He is undoubtedly an inspiration to geeks who are gay or have been bullied for any reason (and really, haven't we all?)
So geek out with us in the comments and show Capt. Jack some love!
