FANGIRL FRIDAY - TJ Klune

In October, I went to Chicago to attend GRL 2014 where I was able to meet some of my favorite authors.  TJ Klune was a surprise supporting author attendee and I spent several days stalking...um... trailing (yes trailing!) him while working up the nerve to tell him he is one of my all-time favorite authors.  I was able to get him to sign my copy of Zombie Boyz anthology, make him laugh and get a hug. 

TJ describes himself as “a 9-5 office worker by day and a superhero/author by night. It's a difficult life to be sure, maintaining my daily life and a secret identity, but somehow, some way, I make it work.”

TJ writes gay romance, both contemporary and supernatural.  He has written several supernaturalesque books:  Elementally Evolved Book I: Burn, co-authored Ghoul’s Gym (with the amazing Eric Arvin) and Into This River I Drown. 

Ghoul’s Gym taught me that a well written zombie book can be both disgusting and make me cry.  Ghoul’s Gym is just the first in a four part series, so I’m looking forward to the rest.  Into This River I Drown made my soul hurt it was so beautiful.  Burn is a story about a fire elemental that killed his mother at the age of 9. 

I haven’t read a single TJ Klune book that hasn’t brought tears to my eyes.  His characters are real, his words are eloquent and his stories are beautiful.  TJ’s books will bring on the full wookie face cry, and you will enjoy it and come back for more. 

For those who stalk follow him on blogs and Facebook, you know that this past year has been pure hell.  Yet, TJ came to GRL this year to interact with his fans and see old friends.  I can’t say Thank You enough to TJ for making that effort for his fans with all of the chaos going on his life. 

If you like gay romance, stories that stay with you and the very likely possibility that you will make the full on wookie crying face, then you should read any and all books by TJ Klune.
