I grew up watching Star Trek: The Next Generation, moved onto Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise. I have Star Trek weekends where I binge watch episodes and movies. I have seen every episode of every series and every movie - multiple times. I tell you that so you understand that I am approaching this review as a Star Trek fanatic!
I found http://www.missionlogpodcast.com on Rodenberry.com, and started to listen at about episode eight. Every week the hosts John Champion and Ken Ray tackle a single episode in chronological order. The format of the show starts with trivia, followed by a synopsis of each scene of the episode and end with discussion between John and Ken. They talk about whether the show holds up to the test of time - production values, messages of the time vs today, etc. John and Ken close out the show by discussing what messages, morals and meanings, if any, are in that episode.
Both the hosts are fans of the show, but they approach it with a sense of humor and an understanding of the time frame in which the episodes were produced. I’m watching the episodes along with John and Ken, and trying to ask myself those same questions about whether it holds up to the test of time, and what if any message that I found. I was really surprised at some of the Star Trek The Original Series and Star Trek The Animated Series that I re-watched. Some of the episodes are entirely cringe worthy (Cat’s Paw), and yet John and Ken have an interesting way of viewing the episodes. A listener can be as passive or interactive as they want to be. There are a multitude of ways to contact the hosts and interact with other fans - Facebook, missionlogpodcast.com site, phone, email, etc.
They also have supplemental episodes which add to the weekly podcasts with interviews of writers, actors, etc. The website has discovered documents which I always find fascinating (See what I did there?).

Mission Log will be discussing the episode Elementary, Dear Data today. However, for those who have never heard this podcast, you can listen to all three seasons of ST:TOS, two seasons of ST:The Animated Series, all of the movies, the first season of ST:TNG and part of the second season.
I highly recommend Mission Log for those of you that are fans of Star Trek. It is free to download and listen.
Live Long and Prosper my peeps!
