Ok, my favorite gift story is cheesy, so enjoy.
Two years ago, my now husband gave me my gorgeous engagement ring on the top of the world's tallest mountain (from the sea floor), Mauna Kea in Hawaii.
He proposed at the Astronomy Observatory Visitor's Center at night, after we'd gazed at stars and planets through powerful telescopes and to the sound of a ukulele concert nearby. We are both astronomy fans, and it was about as romantic as you can get for me.

| It's also worth noting this happened on December 22, 2012 - I guess he figured if I turned him down, he would get swallowed up by a volcano in Ground Zero of the Mayan Apocalypse, anyway! |
