Early this week, I saw a commercial from a new CBS sitcom about a family from Boston. Ordinarily, this would not be news... except for when I squealed like a 14-year-old girl when I recognized that Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block was going to be in it.
I am 41-year-old married woman but in a single second I was involuntarily reduced to a Teen Beat reading girly-girl. It was like a acid flashback. Fortunately, my husband wasn't around to witness the swooning. (I also may have rewound it once or twice and set my DVR to record...)
This got me thinking - is there something about your first big teen crush that always sticks with you? You know, that person or persons who you clipped photos of out of Tiger Beat and put in scrapbooks with hearts or plastered all over your bedroom wall. New Kids was my very first concert. I have no regrets. |
For each generation it is different - for me it was Johnny Depp, Michael J. Fox, Sean Astin and Joey McIntyre (among others.)
TO THIS DAY, I will watch almost anything if they are in it.
And, for the record - unlike some teen heart-throbs, Joey Mac has aged damn well...

Who was your teen crush? Sound off in the comments!
