WTF! GO. FIND. GALLIFREY.
Twelve, Clara, I'm glad you've come here today. I want you to know this is a safe place and that we love you, but this is an intervention. Things need to change and past issues need to be addressed. Yes, it is fun to have adventures in a time machine but it seems that you both have lost sight of something: Gallifrey.
WTF! GO. FIND. GALLIFREY.
This trailer says pretty much all there is to say. Looks and SOUNDS amazing. Go get it.
****See this week's major new movies, books and games after the jump!****
Look, I understand early stocking at craft stores because making gifts takes a few months, so Christmas stuff at a Michaels or some such, it is OK by me.
But, you know what other stores?!...
OCTOBER = HALLOWEEN
NOVEMBER = THANKSGIVING (until Black Friday)
DECEMBER = CHRISTMAS
These seasons each have their place for festivities, decor, clothing, cards and traditions. Not everyone celebrates each of these holidays, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't each get their due time.
Maybe there wouldn't be so much holiday grumpiness if the barrage of "holiday" songs, decorations, and nonsense only happened for a month instead of starting in October.
So step off, Christmas, I still have a Halloween costume to plan.
I LOVE stop motion animation. A lot. This movie went a long way in bringing this artform back to the mainstream, allowing us to still have gorgeous movies like Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, ParaNorman and Boxtrolls to enjoy.
It is hard to believe it came out 21 years ago - this movie is old enough to drink legally!
The character design is iconic (and quintessentially Tim Burton) and the characters themselves are unforgettable. Jack, the flawed hero who just wants more out of life than his everyday routine. Kind-hearted Sally, the voice of reason in this mad-mad world. Mr. Oogie Boogie and Lock, Shock, and Barrel - the trick-or-treaters from hell! And of course Santa himself!
Oh, and the music! So haunting and beautiful. So wicked and fun. I think it is Danny Elfman's best work - and that is saying something!
This movie is both a Halloween AND a Christmas classic for all time.
And I'm sure it is coming soon to a TV near you, so check it out!
First they put us through Battleship and now this.
I'm hallucinating right? Did they say making a Tetris movie will be like making Splinter Cell or Uncharted - video games with characters and stories and such... you know, the stuff you make movies out of?! Seriously. I don't even know what to say except WTF!!
I was a kid that blew all her laundry money on the Tetris machine in the dorm lobby back in college. It is one of only 3 games I have on my iPhone. I love me some Tetris. I will NEVER see a Tetris movie.
I don't care if Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jensen Ackles and Stephen Amell all co-star in it. Well, maybe then I would care - but the chances of that are pretty damned slim.
