Editorial - Why it is important to see 'Lucy'

Sure. The trailer and commercials have given away practically  the whole plot - and probably many of the cool effects sequences - but I still think you should go out and see this movie in the theater.

Why, you ask?

Because I am sick and tired of hearing that an action movie with a female lead won't sell in Hollywood.

Forget the fact that Frozen, with 2 female leads, is the highest grossing animated film. Forget the fact that the biggest franchise out there right now is The Hunger Games.
We had to beg and plead to get Wonder Woman on the slate for her own movie and that's ridiculous! It's frickin' Wonder Woman! Even Marvel hasn't committed to a female lead movie yet (though they are making some in-roads on TV with Peggy Carter and Jessica Jones.)

You want more female lead action movies? Vote with your dollars. Prove we'll go out and see these movies. Go see Lucy this weekend and imagine what a Black Widow movie might be like someday!

While I agree we need more female led films, the scientific inaccuracies in the trailer alone are killing me.

My only problem with it is the premise is so stupid... The whole "humans only use 10% of their brain" thing is an old myth long since disproven. On the other hand, it is Luc Besson, who is generally awesome.
