Could the internet rumors be true!???!?? A Comic Con staff member supposedly leaked this pic confirming that Disney has planned films about Obi Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford). The photo was posted on Imgur and said, "Just saw this floating around on imgur. Apparently a convention staffer managed to snap a pic of lucasfilm running some tech tests getting ready for Hall H at comic con". The picture could be a fake, but we're hoping they announce the films on Friday at #SDCC. Cross your fingers!

Today's tip, park your butt behind your computer and troll YouTube. Key words: San Diego Comic Con 2015 All weekend internet news outlets will be on-site streaming live interviews and news, companies or attendees will release video from panels, and new movie, TV and game trailers are released after they premiere at the Con. Our friends at IGN and CNET have picked up the torch for the nerdy coverage that G4 used to provide, and is a great source for daily re-caps, highlights and analysis. If cosplay is your thing, Sneaky Zebra always produces excellent cosplay highlight videos at every convention they go to, so keep an eye out for their wrap-ups that usually come out a shortly after Con ends (see last year's below...) Also, Marvel is doing a Live Stream all weekend here. There may not always be something going on, but you never know... G.I. Joe: Retaliation’s Elodie Yung has been cast as Electra for Season 2 of the hit Netflix series. No news on any plot points, but she will also be joining The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) as new characters when the series returns in early 2016.
It's good to have goals. Fox wants you to know that if you start today, and watch one episode a night, you can get through all 201 episodes of the X-Files just in time for the premiere of the new X-Files mini-series, on Jan 24, 2016... Catch a glimpse from the new series at the 0:33 point...
MTV News announced this morning that the first volume of Locke & Key, the fabulous horror graphic novel written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez, will be brought to life this fall! After several failed or stalled adaptations, Audible Studios is releasing an audio play of Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft, featuring the voice talents of Haley Joel Osment and Tatiana Maslany as narrators, and with guest appearances by Hill, Rodgriguez, and Hill's famous father - Stephen King!
Locke & Key will be available FREE on Audible from October 5 to November 4, and after that it will become paid content. But that's not all! If you're going to SDCC, be sure to visit IDW's booth (#2743) on Thursday (7/9) from 12pm-1pm - Gabriel Rodriguez will be there, signing a limited edition custom poster! So the real question is - who is going to SDCC, and can you get me one of these posters? Seriously, I will love you forever!
This weekend is the godfather of all entertainment conventions, San Diego Comic Con International.
Today, your digital way in to the SDCC fun is through "Conversations For a Cause" at Nerd HQ. Founded by Zach Levi (Chuck, Tangled, Thor: The Dark World and Heroes: Reborn), Nerd Machine hosts an adjoining event in San Diego (that is not officially part of SDCC) that takes advantage of having big fandom celebrities on on hand for charity.
This year's the event (previously held at PetCo Park), which includes gaming rooms, epic dance parties, celebrity photo ops and a series of small up-close-and-personal Q&A panels with some of the biggest stars in the 'verse, is going to take place at The New Children's Museum.
The event is FREE, but you can buy tickets for panels (only $22) and/or $10 "Smiles for Smiles" photo ops with the money going to Operation Smile, a charity that provides free cleft lip/palate surgeries to children in third-world nations worldwide.
Every year, they stream the "Conversations for a Cause" panels live on their YouTube Channel. The panels are small (about 200 people), and generally un-moderated Q&As with the audience. You get great stories and hilariously spontaneous moments with some of your favorite stars and casts. You can find this year's schedule here.
I'm most looking forward to The Con Man panel with Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk, Stephen Amell, and the casts of Orphan Black (who were amazing last year), Supernatural, Falling Skies, and SHIELD/Agent Carter. There are always surprises, with at least one Mystery Guest Panel and my new favorite, The Badass Women panel - you never know who will show up!
All of the past years live online in their archive and they are well worth the watch.
This weekend is the godfather of all entertainment conventions, San Diego Comic Con International. Like many of you, we can't be there in person, but there a TON of ways to see (and hear) live or almost live events online. All week we will be previewing ways to partake in the epic con fun with out the crowds and con crud!
You can also follow along with Live Blogs of some of the biggest panels on www.nerdist.com!
Based on the Kelly Armstrong urban fantasy series Women of Otherworld, SyFy's Canadian syndicated tale of werewolves and witches, Bitten, has gotten a third season.
I am a huge fan of the series, and despite some of the story deviations from the books (which I am also a huge fan of) this is one of the best urban fantasy series on TV. You can catch up on seasons 1 & 2 on most streaming services. A Spanish-langue TV spot for Marvel's Antman just revealed that an Avenger will be making a cameo! Which one? None other than newly recruited Avenger, Falcon (Anthony Mackie.) FREE Digital Comics from Dark Horse and Vintage (Penguin Random House)!
Enjoy the Free Comic Book Day 2012: Buffy, The Guild. and Alabaster issue as well as a free short story from the anthology Press Start To Play on the publishers! |
