According to Deborah Harkness herself...
I'm delighted to share that the All Souls Trilogy is now in development with the BBC, who hope to adapt it for television. I am confident that they will be careful custodians of the characters you love, and have every expectation that the BBC will produce something fantastic. That's all that I can say about the project at the moment, but stay tuned for further details as they become available.
This is excellent news for the many fans of the popular book trilogy.

Nathan Fillion is going to be guest starring as himself on an upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory.

So, last week we learned that Netflix's AKA Jessica Jones, is adding Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker (Hellcat) and yesterday Marvel announced they are adding Matrix star Carrie Ann Moss to play an as yet unnamed character.

The press release describes her character as, "a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica...if Jessica doesn't completely alienate her first..." and "Her interaction with Jessica Jones will be one of the many highlights of the series.”

TNT's greenlit pilot for (Teen) Titans, has released some casting information in the call sheets. It looks like the show may be pretty female hero-centric, with character descriptions for Barbara Gordon (in her post-Batgirl, wheelchair-bound state), Raven, Starfire, and a female version of Dove. The two male heroes announced so far are Hawk and Dick Grayson's Nightwing. Here's hoping they don't waste too much time on love triangles with Dick, Starfire & Barbara...

Also, heads up on tonight's Agent Carter - not only do we see more of Peggy & the Howling Commandos, but they are trying to stop something called the "Black Widow Program" in Russia. Hmm... I'm thinking this is important... [spoilers below]

And finally, the Superbowl brought us the firsts teaser clip of Heroes: Reborn...

Super Bowl Commercials

It was a strange year for Super Bowl commercials.  Was it just me, or was everything before halftime (or, as Bob Costas calls it, "intermission") not only not humorous, but in some cases downright depressing?

In other words, if you didn't see the commercial meme'd above, just google "depressing Nationwide commercial" and you can view the horror for yourself.  And it wasn't alone - there was a Nissan commercial featuring the song "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin (which is never, ever the background music for an upbeat story) and the odd commercial featuring JFK's voice which was somehow supposed to inspire you to take a Carnival cruise.

I was almost relieved when the halftime show started - but was Katy Perry intentionally offering homage to the Hunger Games?

You have to admit, she does look a little bit Girl on Fire there!

Anyhow, the mood definitely picked up  in the second half - there were plenty of laughs, including Wix.com's ad featuring Brett Favre, Terrell Owens, and other former football greats; Esurance's "Sorta Pharmacy" with Walter White; and Fiat's commercial featuring the little blue pill that got away, resulting in an enhanced car.
And then there was my favorite part of the Super Bowl commercial entertainment - the amazing trailer for Tomorrowland.  I certainly want to go there, and not just because it might mean being in the company of George Clooney!
Overall, it wasn't a terrible year for Super Bowl commercials - but next year, can someone please tell Nationwide to lay off the buzz kill?

Sound off in the comments - what commercials did you love (or hate) the most?
