For years, fans have wondered if Sony Pictures would ever let Spider-Man take his rightful place among the Avengers - and at long last, the answer is YES! Marvel will get to feature Spidey in an upcoming Marvel film, and Sony and Marvel will work together to "collaborate on a new direction for the web slinger," according to a press release from Marvel. This means a new cast, sorry Andrew Garfield, and a hold on the Sinister Six film plans. (Prepare for the return of the #Donald4Spiderman) Does this mean we might get to see The Amazing Spider-Man swinging in the background of Avengers: Age of Ultron? We'll be on pins and needles til May 1!

by Jen Tonight's episode of Gotham was chock full of nightmares - mine included. One of my least favorite things to watch on television is someone injecting themselves with a large hypodermic needle, and tonight I found that is only made worse when the needle in question is filled with the liquid excreted from the adrenal glands of murder victims. Fish Mooney's nightmare began when she woke up on the floor of a dark dungeon-like place full of miscreants and ne'er-do-wells. You'd think she'd feel right at home, and indeed she immediately sets out to take over - and of course, by the end of the episode, she accomplishes just that. However, she still hasn't dealt with the reality outside the prison bars - who is keeping all these people in this cage, and why have they tortured one woman and removed her eyes? (Add that to the list of things I don't enjoy seeing on television.)
As if Agents of SHIELD doesn't have enough kick-ass women, it looks like second episode back, AoS will guest star Jaime Alexander as Lady Sif! She guested in the first season, hunting escaped Asgardian convict Lorelei, and providing the first hints to the identity of the 'blue alien' behind GH.325 - who we now know is Kree. This time out she will be found (armourless) by the SHEILD team with partial amnesia for, what producers describe as, 'some much-needed humor.' Sif has no idea who Thor is or that she serves a king, but still has her childhood memories and knows that she's Asgardian. We've been dealing a lot with space aliens and Inhumans in our last few episodes - things our Earth-bound heroes just don't know much about," says executive producer Jeffrey Bell. "They need help understanding what's really going on. Sif's memory - what's left of it - will come in very handy." Once upon a time, there was an awesome show on Comedy Central (of all places) where robot death matches were shown for our entertainment. Well, ABC is bringing back Battlebots as a summer reality extravaganza! They haven't announced a host for the show yet, but if it isn't Grant Imahara, they are doing something wrong... I wouldn't hold my breath though, with Joan Rivers and John Candy gone and Rick Moranis in retirement it would be a hard sell ultimately- even for Brooks. “Without Rick, I wouldn’t do it. I’ve got the helmet in storage, just waiting for him. [Laughs] It’ll fit nobody else. Rick is five-five-and-a-half. It’s a perfect fit for the big helmet. He was such a genius. And God bless John Candy who’s gone. Tom [Meehan], who wrote it with me, has great ideas and I would love to do Spaceballs 2. We even have the title because in Spaceballs I said, “Maybe we’ll do Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.” [Laughs] That’s what I would call it. It’s the perfect title.” It might be a pipe dream, but it it sure fun to think about - or we can just go home and watch our Spaceballs DVDs and Blu-rays... again.
Since the Seahawks lost the Super Bowl, the bet between Chris Pratt and Chris Evans for charity, bragging rights and making sick kids happy started its pay-out today Pratt, dressed as Starlord, went to Boston to visit Christopher’s Haven, a non-profit that provides housing for families with children receiving cancer treatment at MassGeneral Hospital for Children. Pratt was joined by Evans (in plain clothes and proudly waving his Patriots jersey) and, although he won the bet, Chris Evans has promised that he will still visit Seattle Children’s Hospital, in the future.

There's not a catchy sound track nor much character development - but you do get to wonder when and if Sean Bean's character will die. There are also some impressive hover boots that need to be on store shelves by fall of this year (or so we wish, thanks to Back to the Future) and a lot of falling and explosions. In a way, it feels like a movie adaptation of a “Dune” type of story /book but is very sketchy on the details - only giving you bits and pieces of some kind of back story in the film, but there is no book to read if you want to know more. Overall, it is definitely worth seeing on the big screen, in 3-D, to get the most enjoyment of the film. It is obviously a big-budget movie which doesn't disappoint with the visual and special effects. Just don't put too much effort in trying to figure out the lineage in the story line as it's not going to affect your enjoyment of the movie as a whole. DC just released the first look at Brandon Routh's Atom suit from Arrow... pretty snappy... Ray Palmer will wear the suit for the very first time in episode 15, Nanda Parbat, which will air February 25th!
This week, Gotham wants to know - what is your biggest fear? There's a new killer on the dark streets of Gotham, and his specialty is killing people the way they fear most. Fear of heights, fear of pigs, fear of drowning - this guy really gets off on fear. Fortunately, the dynamic duo of Gordon and Bullock are on the case, with a little romance in the mix - Bullock is enamored of a redhead who may be a key witness to the crimes, and Gordon is getting more serious about romancing Dr. Leslie Thompkins. ![]() Leslie has the best line of the night - "I put on lipstick and you're asking for forensic advice. You're very confusing." I'm looking forward to seeing more interaction between these two, as it looks like Thompkins might become the new medical examiner (Ed Nigma having done away with the last one, his perceived nemesis, in a hilarious fashion). I put on lipstick and you’re asking forensic advice. You’re very confusing. ![]() Meanwhile, Penguin's biggest fear should be Fish Mooney, because on her way out of town she makes a call to Don Maroni and lets him know Penguin has been playing him for a fool in favor of Falcone. Maroni invites Penguin on a road trip, and we all know that's not going to end well - even when Penguin manages to steal Maroni's gun, which the crime lord had the foresight to load with blanks. Things are not looking good for our feathered friend, but then, he always manages to weasel out of these things somehow... Bullock accompanies his new favorite redhead to a support group for people with extreme fears, only to have her disappear with one of the other members of the group. He quickly ascertains that the stranger is Dr. Crane, the likely suspect behind the fear murders, and worries that his lovely new lady friend is his next victim - rightly so, as it turns out. In the end, Gordon and Bullock rescue the girl but aren't able to apprehend the suspect. Tune in next week to find out how the elusive Dr. Crane becomes the villainous Scarecrow!
Last week we reported on the amazing rumor that Michael Fassbender may star in the first Star Wars Universe spin-off movie as (possibly) Boba Fett. This week, we have heard a wild rumor that Tatiana Maslany is set to play the female lead in the 2016 feature film as Star Wars Rebels character Sabine Wren! THIS IS STILL UNCONFIRMED, but damn that would be cool to see her kicking ass in some Mandalorian armor...
